[00:00:05] Michelle: Hi everybody. I thought I'd just pop on and tell you that it's GETOME's one year anniversary, May 26th. I think in some ways I am completely shocked that it's already been a year because it's gone so fast, but it's also felt like I've been doing this for years.
[00:00:32] I picked May 26th as my release date for a really, really special reason. One was, that I needed some incentive to give me the balls to actually release the first episode of GETSOME, and the second is that the person who I thought about who was a huge cheerleader for me was my best friend from childhood. Her name's Laura, and she passed away in 2015. But, she was the inspiration that I pulled from to release, GETSOME and so the best part of celebrating my anniversary with GETSOME is that I am also able to celebrate her birthday again because I miss her so much. I've learned a ton this year and have also met some really amazing people, and I also really wanted to take this opportunity to thank you, my listeners, for being so supportive and open to trusting my perspective on sex because that is, what it is. I mean, obviously I do pull from science, but I think it's important for people to be able to either identify with somebody or there's something about that person that allows to free up their mind to think about sex and. I am super happy that I can be that for a lot of you, I really do feel like it's a privilege and I also really appreciate that you are humored by some of my silliness.
[00:02:42] And I also wanted to thank my fellow sex therapists and all of the people out there who like me, really nerd out when it comes to sex, and thank you for supporting me by listening and learning for yourself, but also even recommending some of my episodes to your clients. That means so much. We have an exciting year ahead with some amazing guests and some fun side projects that you'll hear about.
[00:03:23] I also hope that you all think about a really juicy sex question and just send it to me. Don't worry, don't feel embarrassed, as long as it's, legal, you haven't actually done anything that is illegal, but maybe you're feeling a bit shameful or yeah, maybe you just have a question about your body and how it works.
[00:03:50] I would love for you to either record yourself on one of those recording apps and send me the file via email or just type in your question and send it to my email address, which is michelle@getsome.ca and yeah, don't forget to follow me on Instagram @getsome_podcast.
[00:04:19] So, thank you. I want you all to know that I still love this so much. This is like one of my favorite things that I've ever been able to do because I get to interview the coolest people ever and be able to talk about my favourite subject with them, sex. I'm continuing on my mission to understand sex and sexuality across culture, race and sexualities and relationship styles, and be able to give all that information to all of you so that we all maybe have a common foundation for sex, which really is about pleasure in the end, if we can all agree that sex should be pleasurable for everybody involved and consensual, that would just be amazing. So, we will get there. Have a great night. Talk to you later.
